European Economics Preview: U.K. Retail Sales Data Due

Retail sales data from the U.K. is due on Friday, headlining a light day for the European economic news.

At 2.00 am ET, Destatis is scheduled to issue Germany's producer prices for December. Economists forecast producer prices to climb 1 percent annually after rising 0.1 percent in November.

At 3.00 am ET, consumer confidence and retail sales from Denmark are due.

At 4.30 am ET, the Office for National Statistics publishes U.K. retail sales data for December. Sales are forecast to drop 0.1 percent on month, reversing November's 0.2 percent rise.

At 5.00 am ET, Switzerland's ZEW economic expectations survey results for January are due.
