European Economics Preview: German GfK Consumer Sentiment Data Due

Consumer confidence from Germany and Italy are due on Wednesday, headlining a light day for the European economic news.

At 2.00 am ET, Germany's GfK consumer confidence survey results are due. The forward-looking consumer sentiment indicator is forecast to rise to 10.2 in October from 7.2 in September.

In the meantime, the Swiss consumption indicator is due for August. The index stood at 1.32 in July.

At 2.45 am ET, the French statistical office Insee is set to release consumer spending for August. Household spending is forecast to advance 0.9 percent in August after rising 0.5 percent in July.

At 3.00 am ET, Swiss KOF leading indicator is due. Economists forecast the index to improve to 100.5 in September from 99.8 in August.

In the meantime, the National Institute of Economic Research is scheduled to issue Sweden's economic tendency survey results.

At 4.00 am ET, Istat releases Italy's business and consumer confidence survey results. The business sentiment index is seen at 100.9 in September versus 101.1 in August. Likewise, the consumer confidence index is forecast to fall to 109 from 109.2 a month ago.

At 5.00 am ET, Italy's hourly wages figures for August are due. Hourly wages advanced 0.6 percent annually in July.
